Jeffrey M. Byford is an Assistant Professor of Social Studies Education. Before entering higher education, Dr. Byford taught high school social studies in Norman, Oklahoma for eight years.  His research interests include the examination and implementation of "Project Social Studies" teaching strategies used throughout the 1960s and 1970s.  In addition, Dr. Byford is interested how students' perceptions of social studies directly influence instruction and curriculum in today's classroom.  Dr. Byford received his Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Oklahoma.
